"New Posts" Search No Longer Includes "First Unread" Link

In pre-4.0 (beta 1) versions, clicking on the "New Posts" search link (in the NavBar) would show a "Go to first new post" button to jump directly to the first new post in that thread ("goto=newpost").

Although such an icon (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/buttons/firstnew.png) exists in the Forum Display for each thread containing new posts, this icon and link no longer exists in the New Posts search results.

When viewed with Firefox, the icon is way over to the right side. It should be located left of the thread title. Also if there are new posts the thread title should be bold which it's not.

If you're talking about the http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/buttons/lastpost.png icon, clicking on that link only takes you to the absolutely last post in the thread rather than to the first new/unread post.

There is currently no way to jump directly to the first new/unread post in a thread from the "New Posts" search page...

Yes, I'm talking about the firstnew http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/buttons/firstnew.png icon rather than the lastpost http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/buttons/lastpost.png icon.

Clicking on the firstnew http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/buttons/firstnew.png icon takes the user to the first new/unread post in a thread.

Clicking on the lastpost http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/buttons/lastpost.png icon takes the user to the very last post in a thread.

The firstnew http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/buttons/firstnew.png icon and functionality are sorely missing (in my opinion) from the "New Posts" search.

The lastpost http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/buttons/lastpost.png icon and functionality are in place (in the rightmost column) of the "New Posts" search.

That the firstnew http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/buttons/firstnew.png icon and functionality are missing is a bug in my mind -- thus, this bug report and request to bring it back for 4.0 release.

Thank you for clearing that up akiy. You are correct the firstnew icon is missing. I don't understand why there is a lastpost icon, that would be completely useless and only serves to add confusion and clutter.

Just adding to this to note that it appears still to be the case with Beta 2. A 'New Posts' search gives an accurate listing of threads containing unread posts, and includes a 'Go to last post in thread' arrow; but there is no 'Go to First Unread Post' link/icon.

The icon was added to the end of the thread title, I'm hoping they'll move it back to the beginning so that they're all lined up (like on 3.8).

I really like how it is when viewing subscribed threads in (what was called) User CP. That looks nice with the go to last post and thread previews enabled to hide the clutter that show up in the current New Posts.

It looks like they've moved the firstnew http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/images/buttons/firstnew.png icon back to the left of the thread title in the New Posts search like they had back in 3.x. Great! I don't know if this thread was incidental, but I sure appreciate the change.
