Double clicking icon to mark forum read marks whole category read
When double clicking on the forum icon which indicates a forum has new posts, it used to mark just the 1 forum you double clicked on read.

Doing this on vb4 on the vb site marks the whole subcategory as read.

Changed because I must have missed what I was clicking on, double clicking on the icon which links off to a project marks the whole subcategory of the forum as read, double clicking a forum icon seems to mark only that forum as read (although I'm sure it did the whole subcategory before!)

In version 3.8.4 when you click mark read on Parent forum icon it also marks as read all child forums.
Don't see a problem here.

Working as Designed

Surely the project isn't the parent forum for all the forums in that category though?

ie. Double clicking on the bug trakcer under vBulletin 3.8 then marks all vbulletin 3.8 sub forums as read

I'm seeing the same issue. I don't think this is how it's supposed to be.
If you double click a project icon on forumhome then it marks all forums above it (it's parent's subforums).
If you instead double click each forum icon other than the project icon when all forums are marked read the project icon gets marked read.

IJeffers, can you provide the steps to reproduce.

Because I can't understand from your first message in this issue what you are referring to...
Thanks

Double clicking on the bug forum icon as circled in the screenshot will cause the whole 3.7 forum sub-category to be marked as read. This will happen for any category which has a project in the category/section.

(incidentally the upload manager for the albums is really not intuitive!)
