Hello.

I haven't quite bought vBulletin yet, but I want to get hosting at the same time that I buy my vBulletin license.

My situation: Our board is closing down at http://www.tomfelton.com/discussion/, which has 18,000 members and over 1,500,000 posts, yet there's usually a maximum of 40 members on during the day. Only about 750 members will probably migrate to the new discussion boards that we're planning to create.

I'm trying to find a hosting solution that's relatively inexpensive because we're going to probably fund it by donations (we've already collected about $500, so I guess you could say that's our budget). If you have any suggestions about web hosts who could support a vBulletin of that size or if a different board solution would be a better idea, I'd like to know that, ASAP.

So far, I'm guessing that it'll need at least 30 GB bandwith, and 300 MB space, but that's just a layman's guess. :)

Thanks in advance for your help. You're always welcome to contact me directly by AIM - yelperalp

I have cleaned out this thread and removed the advertising and posts that are unhelpful to the thread starter's original question.

Before posting, please be aware that hosting services and their partners are not allowed to advertise and troll for customers on these forums. Thank you for respecting this.

Hi!

I have my site hosted with Milescape (milescape.com). This month I have used 31 Gigs of Bandwidth and it's only cost me about $12.95. I have the 50 Gig, 1,000 MB package. You can pay for additional packages added on to the same server whenever you need to or get close to exceeding your bandwidth or disk space. There is very little downtime and the support is awesome. My supposrt tickets have almost always been answered within 30 minutes, even at 3 AM. I have had Milescape hosting my sites since last july or so and I have no plans to change anytime soon!

Respectfully, I can see that your board usage (if that is your vBulletin in your profile as your webpage) is nowhere close to what I believe my specifications will be.

Any other suggestions? There's gotta be people with good suggestions around here.

As I said I have used 31 Gigs this month for my site, that is what you are estimating yours will use. This is with my whole site combined.

So far, I'm guessing that it'll need at least 30 GB bandwith, and 300 MB space, but that's just a layman's guess. So we are about the same so far.
