Hey, I am wondering (after doing the process of buying this product)...
Do you accept net banking (where I can send money on the internet straight into your account? - Loggin into my banks website...) - that the only way i can do it, I can't use paypal or the like because you need to put in a phone number etc... and me dad said that they probably sell your number :P
And I can't be bothered going to the bank to send money away :(
And I don't have a credit card (they're evil)

If your bank allows you to send ACH Transfers online, then you can use the Wire Transfer payment type and perform the transfer from your bank's website.

PayPal are one of the worlds most popular payment processors. A company like them would not risk getting sued by doing something like that!!
Read their Privacy Policy, those are law binding terms that they have to stick within.
I have given my phone number out to hundreds of online business, I have yet to receive any unwanted call after using the net for over 5 years.

Paypal may be the "worlds most popular payment processors" but they sure aren't the best. I say this because I had an account with them for a while and they froze it for no apparent reason, I know I wasn't doing anything illegal or something like that, and so I eventually had to leave them(after countless e-mails to customer support and unanswered phone calls), losing the money I had in that account (about 43$). Then I discovered iKobo, a young company and they advertised low rates and fast transfers. I decided to give them a try, and signed up. To my surprise, especially after my bad paypal experience, they work like advertised, at least so far. They are a valid alternative for paypal in my opinion.

I've used PayPal almost since the day they started, and NEVER had a problem. Just the opposite, in fact. I've had nothing but good dealings with them, but I've heard that some people don't. It's all a matter of viewpoint and attitude I guess. Another good one is Neteller (http://www.neteller.com/neteller). It's very much like PayPal, and trustworthy!

It's true, some people might have had good experiences, whilst others bad ones. Overall, after what I've seen on many forums and the web in general, I say the bad ones are far more numerous than the good ones are. Anyway, everyone's entitled to an opinion, and mine still is that iKobo is a decent alternative to paypal. They haven't disappointed me yet; then again, they have plenty of time to do so, although I hope that is not going to happen.

...Overall, after what I've seen on many forums and the web in general, I say the bad ones are far more numerous than the good ones are.Yes, but it's human nature to talk more about the bad than the good. When things are good, people don't generally say anything; but when things go bad, that's when you and everyone else hears about it. It's hard to judge a product or service on the bad reports alone. Nine times out of ten the good outweighs the bad, but we just don't hear about it.

Um, why didn't the quote function work in this post??

Yes, that is quite true. I guess that's just human nature and it's quite sad. Well, at least it's publicity... I suppose bad publicity is better than none at all, or is it?
Oh, and I think the quote didn't work because of the "=arliss". I could be wrong though...

I agree that pypal is popular but now there are far better companies with much greater services, lower fees and larger coverage. These are the rules of competition. If someone signs up with paypal because it's more popular but on a long time period he/she losses great sums of money, I say to better research the market because companies like ikobo.com or moneybookers can make a businessman rich though they are not so popular.

Yes you are right; there are a lot of better alternatives out there. You mentioned some of them, I would add 2checkout, stormpay and I'm sure there are others as well. Right now, as I said, I use ikobo and until they do something to make me change my good impression of them or I find some better offer, I'll stay with them.

I've had no problems with Paypal. Generally they freeze accounts because of a violation or because the US Government asked them to.

Oh, and I think the quote didn't work because of the "=arliss". I could be wrong though...You must be wrong. :) That's vB's format, when you click the Quote button, that's what you get. Seems to be working now, and there's no difference. [insert Twilight Zone music here]

You have some font tags surround the slash in [/quote] you can select it and click the remove formatting buton next to the font selector to sort this.

I don't use font tags, and even if I did, why would I put them around a slash??

Just a quick question. I have recently learned that ikobo is partner with Bank of America and Sun Trust and also that ikobo's funds are FDIC insured. Are these companies reliable? I believe FDIC=Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, is this reliable as well?

I guess it is. I think I heard of them regarding some reports in USA. Anyway, ikobo's debit card is encrypted when entered in the company's application and they have also fraud protection. So you don't have to worry about. No worries at all. I have never had problems with ikobo.

OK, thanks for the info. It' reassuring to know people haven't had problems with them. I certainly wouldn't want to be the first who does. :o I'm sure that's not going to happen.

Well, in case someone was considering 2checkout, this is some stuff I've learnt about them:
1.) Their customer service is MORE than severely lacking. Most of their employees that I have had to deal with have been absolutely rude as all hell, with the exception of one guy! They do a very crappy job of keeping their customers informed of any major issues....prime example has been this whole DDOS thing for the past 4 days. They don't update you very often, and when they do they're very evasive and non-specific. RUDE...RUDE....RUDE people over there!
2.) You cannot accept credit card orders over the phone, by fax or mail in. They will only allow the customer who is purchasing from you to enter their credit card information using their "secure" **cough, cough** network. This is also a pro, but your options to accepting orders are limited to online only.
3.) You only get paid 2 times per month...unless you are making thousands a week...and even then they have to "approve" you for weekly transfer of your funds.
Looks pretty bad to me.
