IM concerned about my vb emails being considered as spam and ahving troubles with my host and IP..... SO........ I was wondering if I could engage a seperate email account off my host, and use that email acct for VB mail, so I can avoid any possibility of problems with my host.

Does this make sense and can I do it?

Second question....... When an email is considered spam, what do they look at to determine the spam source? is it the senders email address thats looked at or do they look inside the email?

I don't know of any way to make vB use a remote mail server. This is something you'd need to set up at the server level.

Each spam filter looks at different things - email headers, subject, 'from' and 'to' addresses, and content.

Im not as concerned about spam filters as my hosting company receiveing spam complaints --- When they send a complaint, do they jsut do it to the email host or do they dig into the emails themselves?

i.e. When you complain about those stolen yahoo addresses sending a link to an adult website, does it count against the website contained in the body of the email?
