Ok, i have just realized that if you want to cancel a server with Server Matrix, you now have to give at least 10 days notice. If you don't then they will charge you for another month!! (This is a new thing, it wasn't required before. They did not even give me notice that they would do this)

Too bad for us, we are due to be billed in 7 days and we have not cancelled our old servers yet. So that is going to cost us a lot as we are going to end up with servers that we won't be using as we recently bought replacement servers.

Just thought i'd let you know.

Cancellations must be received at least 10 days before the beginning of the next billing cycle.
Requests submitted today will be effective for the billing cycle beginning 05/01/2004.
No refunds will be issued for pre-paid services.
Hardware belonging to ServerMatrix WILL be reclaimed on the effective date.
ServerMatrix is NOT responsible for any data after the effective cancel date.

You can read it for yourself by going to the following:

Yeah, it does say that... I wonder why it takes them 10 days or them to get your server offline. Or more rather why does it take 10 days notice in the first place. I thought you cancel, they unplug, format, and put the parts back in the bin. In any case, thanks for the warning.

Hello Cringle. :)

I would consider that if i didn't have other servers with them. ;)

I find it very strange that there are so many companies that do not include a requirement like a 30 days written notice. It isn't something I like as customer, but .. it does help improve the quality of your site because it avoids that group of users that keep switching and play abusive and try to get free hosting for 30 days money guarantee and situations like that. Personally I prefer to pick a good host, invest in it and stay with them throughout the years.

If you have other servers and still are going to remain a customer, try e-mailing Jeff Reinis and explain to him what you would like done.

I'm cancelling a spare server there and I called the accountin department and they told me that as long as it is done before the first of the month it's ok. I cancelled mine yesterday and it's going to be cancelled April 1st.
