vb 3.0 manual: what help authoring software used to create it?

The vb manual is great. Perhaps it was hand coded but I doubt it because there are so many pages. I've been looking at help writing software - AuthorIT, eHelp, Doc-to-Help, HelpandManual, Webworks. Does anyone know what single-source help authoring software was used?

I suspect the topic poster is asking what program was used to create the CHM version of the manual, which i suspect that it wasnt "coded by hand".

It is a whole new system build from scratch, coded by the vb devs - if I remember correctly.

The staff can enter entries behind the scene, moderate comments from users and edit entries on the fly.

The system instantly shows the results and automaticly links the manual navigation based on the display order and parent/child listing.

Entries can be moved and cross linked etc.

Kier (and others?) did a great job! It was very cool stuff to work on (for example, I did the smilies part and it was really easy to build it up and edit it and get Jo and Mike to help me out tweaking it.)

If it is a in-house development as you say, then they sure did a great job. I suspected it was not hand coded because their are many software packages that will allow someone to edit a single source and then output HTML, CHM, PDF - all the formats the manual are in (PDF is coming it says). I know they used a software package to compile the HTML into CHM, but there are tons of thats all they used.

Well, perhaps the code can be released seperately as another product for vB! Let me guess, they can call it "vManual 1.0" or "vBulletin Manual 1.0".
