The current template and image set that comes with vBulletin is a turn-off to me. When I first upgraded to vBulletin, all I had to do was change one image, change the width of all the textfields, and change the style colors, and I was done.
With VB2 I've had to do all that, but I've also had to remove spacer images, remove a background image from tables, remove most of the fancy CSS stuff, revert back to the old image set, and change the width's and cellspacing of tables in several templates.
So I think what I'm saying is, keep the pretty template for use on this site, but change the template that you put in the .ZIP's to the simple layout that was in the first version. Also, the new colored smilies work good on this site, but why include them in the ZIP? Once everyone makes their template changes I doubt the yellow smilies will fit with their new look.
Does the template included in the releases really need to be the exact same one that is used on this site?
This is my *only* concern with VB2. The software is the best on the market. I just think that there's the possibility that someone other than me would want that "UBB/VB1" look right out of the box, and that something as seemingly minor as this could sway someone's decision on what vendor to purchase from.
