I am the webmaster for a number of PHP/MySQL enabled web sites. Each of these sites has a single MySQL database associated with them.
I wish to encourage them to use vBulletin, but my understanding is that vBulletin needs its very own 'dedicated' MySQL database to operate. In other words, it's not able to make use of the single MySQL databases that my sites are already using.
So my questions are these:
1. Is my understanding correct?
2. If it is, then perhaps vBulletin can be easily hacked to get it to co-exist with other active populated tables on a single MySQL database?
3. If the answer is still no, then can anyone recommend a reliable economy web hosting service that is happy to issue 2 (or more) separate MySQL databases per domain?
Thanks.
