Based on the poll feature, make a contest feature.

Users (Or admins or moderators only) will be able to create contests. Contests are similar to polls, but one of the answers is marked "correct" answer.

After a set number of days, the contest ends, and only members who answered the question correctly are eligible to win. The script could then pick X number of winners from the list of members who correctly answered the question.

Admins can set the number of days to run the contest or just end the contest manually.

Also the list of members who answered the question correctly would be generated at the end of contest.

I realize it's not an easy hack, and will most likely require the creation of at least one new table.

I just want to developers to think about it.

I don't know how many people would actually use a "contest," sounds more like a specialized thing... Why not write a hack? If you took the time to write the hack then the dev team could concentrate on adding features more useful to everyone instead of a select group.

once i finally upgrade my boards to vb2, I'll hack up a survey feature, which will include a correct answer feature.

I took a look at the way john did the poll feature for 2.0 and the same basic idea was used as the way i did it for the original poll hack, so it should not be too complex to code this.

i guess calling it a survey hack would be wrong...
