File Permissions for new install?

What are the required file permissions for vB 2.0? Unless I'm missing something there doesn't appear to be any reference to this rather important bit of information anywhere in the installation instructions.

It's not documented because it's not important to vB.

Unlike UBB, which spends its life spewing files all over your disks, vB keeps all its data in a mySQL database.

Therefore, the only permissions you need to give the files are those that allow them to be viewed from your webserver. (ie: default).

Sorry but what do you mean by 'default'? Could you be a little more specific? The file permissions when I uploaded the files are 600.

when I upload they are 644. weird

unless you're running PHP as CGI then you don't have to worry about permissions
