SQL disk usage and end of month?

I glanced at my acount info in cpanel the other day and noticed that my SQL disk usage was ~300MB. Right now (it just rolled over to a new month) I just checked and it's 75MB. Why is that?

Maybe it was the sessions which are stored in the database. Where there many users online at that time?

I doubt sessions would account for this. It's more likely a glitch in the way the host is adding up this info.

My board is fairly small -- I didn't have more than 20 members online at once.
