Dear vbulletin Team and members !

I am facing some serious financial problems these days and want to keep my web hosting budget in limit. My forum (6 months old) has only 2400 members with average 300 posts/day but my Mysql quota used is 177 mb. My web host is charging a lot for this amount of Mysql space. Due to lack of technical knowledge, I am unable to reduce the quota used on my forum. Can anyone answer my silly and simple questions.

1) What is stored in Mysql database?
2) Can I configure Mysql databse in the way that it does not take much space on my server.

I will appreciate if someone guide me on right path.

Why is your host charging for MySQL space?

The first thing to do if you haven't already done it already and you are running 3.0 of vBulletin, is move your attachments from the db to a directory as files. The same with your avatars.

Can you please tell me step by step how do we move attachments from database to directory. Is it going to take a long time or is it a quick action. Also, is it risk free?

I am using vbulletin 3 beta 4

whoa, upgrade to RC imdedtly, also what are you currently paying and getting?

most decent hosts include your DB usage in your diskspace :/
