Database Backup and Move

We currently have our forums at Pair.com but are moving to VenturesOnline. I have always used the Pair Admin Panel's Database Management section to backup our database. Would it be possible and safe to back up and move like this:

1. Backup database at Pair through the Pair Database Management/ Database Backup
2. Setup new database at our new server at VenturesOnline
3. Install vB on new server in that new database (would I do this by transferring all my current vB files on my Pair server? Or would I install a fresh copy?)
4. FTP database backup sql file from Pair server to VenturesOnline server plus:




Go into config.php and change the database name to the new VO database name
upload config.php
Go into admin/index.php and then click on "options" and change the URLs and verify the options and click "submit"
Will it work like that?

From the support ticket you sent it looks like the db backup was not complete. For future reference, here is the recommended procedure for moving servers:
