Hey gang!

I just got my VPS3000 set-up today with Ventures Online and I am trying to figure out the whole nameserver bit. As the docs say, it is the most confusing part.

Obviously, I was given a primary IP address to access WHM. I have 2 sites that are going to run on this server so do I use this primary IP for one of the sites or do I use this IP to just access WHM and then assign the 2 sites (which will be set up later) IP's from the list that I was given in my welcome letter?

Now, once I have the sites set up, what do I do for nameservers? Can I just make up names such as ns1.madeup.com and ns2.madeup.com (in other words, I can use my domain name correct?)? As long as whatever I put in for the nameservers is put in with my registers I'm ok, right?

In the Edit Settings of WHM, it asks for nameservers. Is this where I should put in ns1.mydomain.com and then click the assign button for primary and secondary?

From there, how do I assign the nameservers for other sites that I add to my server?

Thanks a million for any help!

Ok, I might be getting there on my own but would still like a thumbs up or down. :)

BIND is running on the server so that handles any nameservers that I create pointing the domain to the correct IP. I have my main IP set-up to ns1.reefland.com (which is also my main sites domain name) and ns2.reefland.com. Right now, I can access both WHM on my main IP and Cpanel so I can handle my main site (reefland.com) through this IP and once the DNS resolves after I change it with my registar, I can get to WHM for my server and Cpanel for my main site by going to http://xxxxxx.reefland.com:2087 (http://xxxxxx.reefland.com:2087/) and http://www.reefland.com/cpanel. So all I have to do is create my site on the new server and then update my DNS entries. :)

Now for a second site I add to the server, it will use the same nameservers as my main site but the DNS entry for the second site is linked to a different IP so when it will be fine, correct? Again, change the DNS info with the registar and all will be fine there.

I think I've got it, just looking for some reassurance. :)
