Cheers,

PS. I have a problem caching images on my site as well. images are downloaded everytime. Now I have checked every vB setting that I know but still no luck trying to sort out this problem. I've been told that its a server config but I have no idea how that can be achieved. :confused:

Okay, I've upgraded my server to something more powerful since the activity/database has drastically increased compared to last time.
Any optimization help (if necessary) is appreciated, eva!
Thanks :)

Yep, thanks Zak.
Onto another (most recent) problem... I've been getting numerous reports from members telling me that they keep getting "Page cannot be found" errors at times when they want to search for a word or post, although I couldnt reproduce it in IE myself. This problem arose since the upgrade to php 4.3.8, i think ( http://www.cosforums.com/info.php ) but I'm not sure how this could've been the reason. :S
Any ideas?

You should check the error log if you can as "Cannot find server" means that apache gave no content back, not even headers which is most likely a crash.

Ah, I meant "Page cannot be displayed" my bad. Also, here's the page if you want more details on this issue:
http://www.cosforums.com/showthread.php?t=21641&page=21&pp=30
I'm trying to figure out why this is happening, no luck so far. Any help on this is much appreciated.

Okay, that thread seems to have been deleted for some reason but anyway, this problem still persists and I'm going mad trying to find what is up. When you load a page, it gets stuck at times, like a pause or something then loads fast after a few seconds.
I've been keeping an eye on the top stats for a couple of hours too and been seeing alot of <defunct> httpd connections:
27217 user 23 0 0 0 0 Z 0.1 0.0 0:00 3 httpd <defunct>
Could this be related to my problem? Any ideas?
Thanks again

I added this to my.cnf about a month ago
log_slow_queries=/var/log/slow-queries.log
long_query_time=2
log-long-format
But the slow-queries.log file is always empty. Is this normal?

No actually I didnt chown the log file so it couldnt write to it.
Anyway, I've been having some server load problems during the past couple of days. It seems to me that the server load shoots up to about 4 and sticks there for a few hours. (like now, it is on 3.55, 3.46, 3.46), although the site is still accessible. So, is there any way I can detect exactly what is causing this? I cant quite figure out when this happens either...
