I would like to suggest that when a new version is released, that it automatically be given a 1-week/2-week beta period for those on the 'bleeding edge' to install and try out. There is nothing more I detest in 'the other forum software' that they release a version (say 5.43) then tomorrow they release another version (say 5.43a) and the next day (say 5.43b) and the next day (say 5.43c) and the next day (say 5.43d).

Let those who want to install the latest and greatest install a 'beta' copy. When it is stable or a certain period of time has gone by, then the 'beta' copy becomes the 'stable' copy. That way, those who don't need to be on the bleading edge won't have to install all the 'fixes' while the bugs are worked out...

Sound good ?

Maybe reward those willing to do it with permanent license as long as they are in the program rather than yearly renewals?

The above mentioned is one of the main reasons I'm still running ver 5.42 at my site.

Sounds good to me!

(Can't wait to get my forum up and running! - just being delayed by my hosts seemingly being on vacation right now! :))

That sounds like a good policy to adopt. When we do upgrades and stuff we will provide info about the stability of a new release in the members area.
