I'm not happy with the current system of just submitting a URL to a suspectd pirated board. You have no facility to report direct download links to vBulletin being distributed or suspected users who are sharing accounts. I emailed support@vbulletin.com with a link to a direct download of a nullified vB3 gamma today and got an email error back saying it was an invalid support or something along those lines.
*Awaiting feedback* :)

Amazingly enough, nullified versions have become pretty popular since the gamma was released. Nothing new as I have seen it all from every hack from vb.org to every mod from vbt.com. Threads like "post you vbulletin stuff here" are very common and don't suprise me anymore.
Throw in nullified versions of hivemail, modernbill, and photopost, half the templates from templatemoster, and someone could have one formitable site for virtually free.
There is a hack for this also, that shows how to nullify it...its written pretty good and covers all the basics from the call home to gettting around that thingy in the install script that asks for your licence number. i'm almost positive there is an irc channel also..#******* or #*******...something like that. Not on dalnet or efnet but isnt there like a relic.org irc server or something close to that? I'll have to bookmark it when i come across it again. Oh wait, #****** , thats it. Still no sure about the server though. I'm almost 100% sure that licensed members run the first two...the third one is a channal for this hacking group that cracks scipts like vbulletin. If its coded in php they probably already cracked it...I know they have a vb release though..possibly the nullified version that Mist mentioned.

Personally I don't care about the other stuff. All i'm saying is that I want a place to be able to report pirates with greater ease :)

I am a licensed user and always plan to be for support reasons, but what recourse does Jelsoft have against a pirate? Can they remotly shutdown their forum? Or is it just a legal battle?

We don't give specifics on what we do to fight piracy because we don't want the pirates to be forewarned.
