Converting from yabb se 1.5.4 to vb

I saw a thread here that stated there was a converter for YaBB SE 1.5.4. From what I understand, there has been issues in the past with passwords converting properly. I'm wondering if you guys know whether or not this has been worked out? I would like to convert to VB and make a purchase, but I don't want to do it if it isn't going to do full user conversion including passwords. Any insight on this would be very much appreciated.
