no, I never recommend 24 hour books because you have to be some kind of genius to sponge up all the information so fast.
I do recommend
PHP fast&easy web development.
they explain almost every line of code and have pictures :))) heh
very easy reading for a total PHP newbie.
also has chapters on how to start of with mySQL database. so they don't play around :)
you can probubly find it at www.amazon.com ( thats where I bought my copy)
well good luck and tell me how it goes.

I read PHP in 24 hours, although it took me about 2 weeks.
Its a pretty good book but it does contain some errors. It covers pretty much everything you need to get started in PHP. There may well be better books out there but a lot of it depends on how you learn (there are different learning styles) this book is good if you find it difficult to motivate yourself to read because you have goals and a good learning structure.
It shold definately take more than 24 hours to read if you do all the excersises for each chapter.
It should be titled Learn PHP in 24 LESSONS, rather than hours..
