Hey!
Some of you'll surely know this freeware game. It's called 'racer'.
Tim Wheatley (http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/member.php?u=12057) will know it because his forums includes the official racer forum ;)
Here's a text copied from the official website:
Racer is a free car simulation project (for non-commercial use), using professional car physics papers to achieve a realistic feeling. Cars, tracks and such can be created relatively easy (compared to other, more closed, driving simulations). The 3D and other file formats are, or should be, documented. Editors and support programs are also available to get a very customizable and expandable simulator. OpenGL is used for rendering.
The resources:
http://www.racer.nl -> official website
http://www.racer-xtreme.com/ -> tons of tracks and cars and stuff
RaceSimCentral (http://forum.racesimcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=111) -> official forums
The attached screenshot shows a Honda S2000 on Racer v0.5.2 beta 3.
I really think you'll like it ;)
