View Full Version : Am I Being Ripped Off?

I ordered a game off of importmadness.co.uk on Tuesday. In the FAQ, is states they they send you an invoice after the order is placed. Here I am two days later, still without an invoice or notification of my order. I'm hoping there is a logical explanation for this, as they have taken money from me today (World Pay).
Call me crazy, but I don't like being billed without an invoice or confirmation of my order
Whenever I try to E-Mail them, they don't reply and their live support is never available.
I hope I'm wrong, but I'm beginning to think I've been ripped off :(

Could easily be possible that you were ripped off.
Do you know anyone else who's bought from them before? Are they reputable?

They are top in the search rankings, were recommended on a couple of sites etc.
The weird thing is, it says this in my account
Shipping Status: 24th September
According to that, they shipped it yesterday. I have received no E-Mail, no invoice or anything that they promised. Either they have really bad customer support, or are trying to rip me off.

Give it some time, then, if a charge on your credit card appears, and you fail to have a game in your hands, contact your credit card company and challenge the transaction.

They have charged me though, that's what's bothering me.

Give it a week. If next friday you fail to have the game, call your bank. I think its actually a form you fill out and have to fax to the company. Its basically a similar procedure for most of the companies. However! Dont let the company get away with this!

Don't worry, I won't let them get away with it.
While we're on the subject, does anyone know a trustworthy supplier of imported games? Based on this, I doubt I will order from them again (even if I do receive the game)....

If you had read what I said, you'd know what I mean ;)

And obviously there's no such thing as email getting caught in spamfilters, erronous software etc.
Just take a chill-pill or two.
If you don't have the game in a week, THEN it's time to start worrying

I could be worrying over nothing, I just found it annoying that they did the opposite of what it says in the FAQ. Also, I hadn't received an E-Mail before they billed me. There is probably a logical explanation, I'm just careful with money at the moment (still waiting to start a job). I'm probably being paranoid about the live help, but it has said "unavailable" or "be back shortly" for days now.

took me 5 weeks to get my laptop, i'd just let it go.
You get up to 6 months to complain with world pay.

I usually do ebay if I want something rare, otherwise I wait until it comes out in the states.

It would of worked out more expensive on Ebay, so I gave this a try....

I'm willing to pay for a reliable seller than a company claiming to import in the internet...

Since you paid with a credit card, you have 6 months from the day of purchase to issue a charge back on the merchant, so don't worry too much.

Ok, I finally got the chance to contact them. I was hoping that I was wrong, and I'm glad to say I was :)
