We are getting the following error message:

Parse error: parse error, expecting `','' or `';'' in global.php on line 62

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getpermissions() in /home/ipiu/public_html/forums/index.php on line 41

I emailed our web host an urgent message, and he
replied by writing the following:

This is an issue with the forum software and not the server. You may want to research upgrading to the latest edition, if you haven't already.

For verification, take a look at http://www.explorerforum.com ... same server, same software, no problems. You can also take a look at http://www.webmaster-forums.com ... again, same software, same server, no problems.

The error you are getting is referencing the global.php file which is part of the vB files.

Can someone please help us with this?

Place a ; at the end of line 62 in global.php - or upgrade to 1.1.5

It does not appear on that line:

home/ipiu/public_html/forums/index.php
<?

[please don't post the full source code -- John]

Place a ; at the end of line 62 in --> global.php <-- - or upgrade to 1.1.5 The best option and only one we can support is upgrading.

So who can do an upgrade for us immediately?

Your company is in Great Britain. Our web site
is in Utah.

I just read the upgrade option you have for $30.

Last year your support was behind somewhat.
Can this be done immediately?

"For $30, one of our technicians will upgrade your
vBulletin software to the latest version, provided you
hold a valid license. Note: We are only able to upgrade
vBulletin forums where the source code has not been
edited in any way."

John, I have been working with them now for about an hour, Chad called back and we resolved the issue. Thx Chad for the help!

I too just got a call from one of my support
people who has been working with Bob!

Let me first say I am VERY thankful for the offers
from two members of this forum to help do the
necessary upgrade immediately. Both offered
their help for free, and I suspect some people
may wonder "why no charge?"

My conversation with my support person revealed
that Bob has been in the same "situation" before
when something has happened to his software,
and a helping hand can go a long way instead
of holding out for payment.

Either way, I have yet to see a list of any
"professional VBulletin programmers" or
installers who are well versed in MySql and
the other attributes of a server. Bob grabbed
his fire engine cap and rescued us from a bad
situtation. Our host, Chad, also spoke to Bob
on a conference call with my support person,
and all worked together to get the access
necessary to do the upgrade.

We also own our license and are looking forward
to the 2.0 version release, which we have been
told is extremely more resourceful.

Thank you,

David
