GD 2 Troubles...

I lease a dedicated server and it came with GD1.6. I need GD2 so I can use the watermaring feature with my PP Gallery. I downloaded it and installed it from the GD site but when I look at phpinfo it still says I only have GD1.6.

Can someone help me with this?

You have to recomplie PHP to use the new GD.

I just looked over the php.net site and couldnt find how to do that, would you be able to tell me how or what I need to run to do that?

I've never complied PHP by hand. If you have '/scripts/easyapache' available. this is by far the easiest way to do this. You'll need to be logged in as root to run this, if it's available.

I just did a locate and no easyapache at all.. rats.
