Well, since conditionals are now part of the vBulletin template system, I was hoping someone would be able to help me out here since most have had a chance to get used to the system by now.
Here is the scenario we are looking at:
I have a forum, which has 4 sub-forums under it, with that, I do not allow posts in the main forum, only the sub-forums. I would like to make it so that any forum that is closed for posts to not show the new post image and the "no new posts since.....".
For better reference, I have posted a screenshot below labled as needed for the effect.
I would appreciate any help possible :)

Argh lol, couldn't find your thread =) Anyways. This is the part I think you have already done, but will repeat this anyways for you.
First what you want to do is Go to Forums and Moderators in the admin CP, click on Forum Permissions. In the parent forum, go to edit on all usergroups who you do not want to go post in that parent forum. Click edit on the usegroup, and scroll down to "Can post new threads, reply to own threads, reply to other threads" in addition to whatever permissions you set. Do that with each usergroup. Then when your done, go to the subforum, and repeat the same thing. However, in the subforum user permissions, you will want to go to the permissions stated above and move the option to YES. This is because when you edit permissions of a parent forum, the sub-forums inherit those permissions.
In addition, find the forum permission "Can View Other's Threads". Make sure that is checked to No. That will take care of your threads. Now, let me just make sure I understand this. When there are no threads displayed, you still get the search this forum, "No posts have been made within 30 days", etc. You want to get rid of that. Since all my forums are sub-forum's only, I made it so it does not display that part on ALL the parent forums. I am in the process of doing it for a specific forum using conditionals, will hopefully get that tonight and will explain how to do it.
Tried to explain this as best I could. If you have more questions, let me know and I will answer ASAP

EDIT: Actually, give me one second. I have it so if the forum is closed to posting, then the condition goes into effect. However, on the forumhome, you see the lock image, which is confuses people. So going to make it so the condition is if you can view other threads, k? Out for an hour, ttyl
Alright SD, heres the thing. I kept the search forum and the little buttons at the bottom for the following reasons. In addition, I left the forum rules (if you can post threads and stuff) there as well as the admin options.
1. People will want to search the entire forum. If they only have that in each subforum, the thread they are looking for might be in another forum!!!
2. The admin options are very helpful
3. Adds a little more spunk
If thats fine, I will make a .txt installation file, and will post it both here and on VBulletinTemplates =)
