I'm waiting to upgrade our forums until I have at least one account of virtual server that upgraded without incident. Anyone?

I know this answer is not what you are waiting for at all, but you should have no problems related to upgrading of the database at least, if you have permissions to alter the tables. You can find that out from your host before you try this. It would be wise to know that whether or not others have done it on a virtual account :)

Well the main problems with the upgrade seemed to have been resolved (for me at least) with the new version john put up later today. I am stuck at the ALTER part but I will let you know tomorrow how it goes when I can ALTER my tables.

Okay..checked with my Host...and we are allowed to alter the tables in the mySQL database. The inital installation on dids.com went very smoothly, so I'm hoping that the upgrade will go just as well. Think I should just do it? eeek.

If it were me, I would:D
But then again, I am not going to be held responsible, hehe:)
Just back it up appropriately first.
