There seems to have been a slight problem with the database. Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

Are these things I don't have access to do or is there something else actually wrong? I put my 1.1.1 files back and it seems to be working but I am going to corrupt something?

I assume I don't have "ALTER" privelages according to the upgrade instructions. Why the hell would they not give me access to modify my own tables. Have I screwed anything up by trying to run the upgrade script while not having the appropiate permissions to do what is needed?

Many virtual hosting accounts do not, unless you are on a dedicated server that has the MySQL installed on it, then almost certainly you should have permission.

Yes there is a server dedicated just for MySQL. I have sent in my request so lets see what the response is. If NO then I change hosts.

Yes I agree that it would be in order to change hosts :)

They (your-site.com) have been nothing but helpful and quick with all my requests so I am hoping they will be likewise with my Alter permission. Perhaps they just over-looked settng the bit. Any reason why they would not typically allow me to Alter my own database. I can add tables but I can't change a table? Makes no sense to me.

I know they do that on shared MySQL servers on *some* accounts, but typically if you can create the databases and tables, then you should be able to alter them. Yeah it makes no sense.
