Hello again,

we're dying to buy the new vB, but we'd like to have the portuguese language pack as well.

So here's the deal: we've been testing the Invision Power Board ( http://www.invisionboard.com ) and it's pretty cool... and free. And we can edit the language of the forum easily ( http://www.invisionboard.com/switch/index.php?a=img&i=acp_lang_edit ).

So, any idea when vB3 is coming out? And would I be able to move from Invision to vB3 once it comes out?

There is no estimated time for vB3 final yet. It depends on how many bugs remain in the next beta version. If it does well, then we'll have at least one release candidate prior to the final. Once vB3 is final, the import scripts will be updated shortly afterword. Meanwhile we already have an InvisionBoard import script for vB2 which you can use to import, then upgrade to vB3.

I´m also from Brasil and I have been learning a little of what vBulletin can do. It really amazes me, but there are some things I´d wanna know, so let me take this opportunity :D

When vB3 is out, there´s gonna be language packs for it, right? So, does it mean that once we downloaded the pack we need we won´t have anything else to translate? Also, is the Portuguese Language Pack gonna be available as well? And what if I wanted to make two different language packs selectable for the users?

Thanks in advance! :)

Initially the Language Packs will be translated by our customers, who may or may not decide to share them. We are still discussing ways to make these available to paying customers as they become available.

Thanks, man!

But I think it would be cool to have both Brazilian Portuguese and Portugal´s Portuguese packs so we can offer both versions in our forums ;)

Awesome! I´m gonna begin the Brazilian Portuguese translation as soon as I get a license, which means I´m waiting til VB3 is out and stable.

We can work together by splitting the tasks

Nice... Well, I've a forum license and my style (version 2.3.2) already translated for the Brazilian Portuguese. ;)

If I were you, I'd get one once it goes to RC1, as it is already pretty damned stable and RC1 introduces the new style, making it "safe" to translate the front-end without editing templates or worrying about having to re-translate more than a few phrases between the RCs and the final release.

Yep! Gonna do that ;)

Neat! But I guess we're gonna have a lot of work to do with vB3 since it's got some various new features to translate.
