1- edit your header template, make it 2 cols, add your ad. into the right column
2- edit your categories (forum with no post) template, do the same thing
3- edit the same one in forumdisplay.
That's the theory. hope it helps. I dont have enuf time to show you the detail. maybe someone have some hack for this?

Yeah, I have tried messing with the header, seemed to always screw up the background tho. . .
I'll investigate the others. Thanks for the help :)

Ok
Edit your forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost
with this code to get the look of the attachment.
This works only for the forum index.
<tr>
<td class="tcat" colspan="<if condition="$vboptions[showmoderatorcolumn]">6<else />5</if>">
<img border="0" src="../path/to/200x34demo.gif" width="200" height="34" align="right">
<a href="forumdisplay.php?$session[sessionurl]f=$forum[forumid]"><b>$forum[title]</b></a>
<span class="smallfont">
<if condition="$forum[description]"><br />$forum[description]</if>
<if condition="$forum[subforums]"><hr size="1" /><b>Sub-forums:</b> $forum[subforums]</if>
</span>
</td>
</tr>
This adds the same image to every forum category.
Can anyone show me how to have a different image for each one?

you can have banner rotation, or you could use a hack to create dif image for each

But there is no hack for v3 yet that I am aware of.
That will handle this kind of stuff.

Use template conditionals to "hack" it.
Perhaps something like <if condition="$forumid == 4">[IMAGE HERE]</if>

ESAD, the copyright for vBulletin is missing in the footer. It must read at a minimum

I suggest adding it back in before you get Jelsoft on you for not having it.

I thought it needed this as a minimum?

And if you do not have the copyright in the footer and you haven't paid for a branding-free license, then you are using vB in violation of the license agreement and Jelsoft can revoke your license.

It is required if you did not pay to have it allowed to be removed.
I will just report your site so they can tell you to put it there or revoke your license ;)

Whatever. Buzz off. . . to put it politely.
I did buy the non-branded license, yet I do not have to answer to your little ass, so that is why I have chosen not to respond to you. Until now.
report, report, report till your little heart's content. :cool:

we went through this before, why do people always jump to conclusions.
did none of you think that maybe he paid to have the copyright free version, none of you thought to ask did you.........
at the end of the day its up to jelsoft to deal with these kinds of things and there is a place to report such things, instead of taking the moral high ground and deciding you will be the 'sherife' and enforce jelsofts policys for them...........

For future reference, please do not jump to conclusions if the copyright notice is missing. With the new lower cost of the branding free license, more people are taking advantage of this opportunity. If you still have your suspicions, just report the site here:

I did not jump to conclusions. I said unless he had purchased the non-branded license all he had to do was put it back in. All he had to tell me was that he had purchased the non-branded option and I would have dropped it, however he just replied with "naa, i didnt like it," which to me sounded like he took it out just because he didnt like it there. Any normal person would have replied with "I purchased the non-branded license, so it's ok."

The point is, I don't have to tell you sh*t!"
Just mind your own business next time. WTF do you think you are?
The Jellsoft Police?
pathetic. . .

You may not have to tell me anything, true. I just dont understand why you're getting so worked up over this, it's pointless. It's done and over with now, move on...
Anyways, to return to the topic. If you want different images for different categories like that, there is a hack available at vB.org ... not sure what it's called, but it's for vB2, not 3 ... might be able to convert it though with a little work.

hang on you were the one that started this whole thing off by telling him that his copyright wasnt there in the first place, why do this? why not just report him if thats what you wanted to do..
because you wanted him to say 'oh my bad' and put it back or tell you about buying the unbranded version, like he said who are you to ask these things?

All I did was say that his copyright was missing, why is that such a bad thing? I've seen it happen elsewhere on this site and no one jumps down their throat like you guys are to me over saying that someone is missing one line of text on their footer. Most of those people have responded and said they either bought the un-branded license or have taken it out by mistake and said so. I guess I'm confused as to why other people can state this stuff, but when I try to I get yelled at, it makes NO sense to me.
The response "naaa, I didnt like it." wasnt expected, and I assumed he did'nt pay the fee for the unbranded license, dont tell me you wouldnt have assumed the same. My second reply was'nt necessary, however, again, why am I the one getting blamed here, for something so stupid, that other people have done many times before as well?
Again, I am going to drop this, because I see no point in arguing over something like this. I replied with what he could do to get the ad's which he requested in the first posts to work properly...
