Hi guys,
I thought everything was running perectly, and it pretty much has been okay, but something REALLY bothers me.
We have a SUN E420R running out database for vBulletin ONLY. This is a Quad 450MHZ Sun box with 2 GIGS of ram. For some STRANGE reason, our forums run SLOWER than others that are running on simple p3s! We have installed the latest version of mysql, and have implemented all the my.cnf changes that have been recommended, but still, I can't figure out why we are running SLOWER than others!
Perhaps we had changed one of the php3 files incorrectly while making modifications, and this is causing slowdowns?
I would like someone with experience to help us solve this problem. I'll pay this person for their time if they can figure out exactly what is wrong.
Please contact me at alexz@bigbigsavings.com.
Chris, I've asked you for help on this before, and while you provided some great tweaking tips, I really need someone to STEP IN and figure this out.
There is no reason why we should have ANY kind of slow-downs on our forums. Our box is 10x more powerful than 99% of the people running vB.
Thanks
Alex
