I was thinking of starting another site, and running it from a VB.

So if i start designing my site, and using the current version VB i have now, but not making it public. applying hacks and everything i need for the new site. but when it comes to buying the second license and making the site go public would it be possible to just overwrite the admin/index.php with the new licence one, or would i have to upload all the new licenced files overwriting all the hack i'd have done to it?

Sorry, i'm not very clear - i'm not good at putting my idea's into words =/

I believe version 3 has the license number listed in each file now.

Well i haven't decided whether i'll go VB3 yet, i'll probably stick with 2, seeing as that's what i know best for hacking and such.

It does, although I believe it's only in the header comments and not in the actual code.

I'd still like some comfirmation from the VB devs as to if/how i can do this with VB2/3

Yay, my second topic requiring some help from support with no response. I didn't want to bug them via E-mail, but looks like i'll have to.

IMO, You would merely have to get a find and replace tool, and input in your valid license code and replace your other valid license code.

Somebody please tell me the licensing protection is better than that, though. I don't want some jagov accidentally throwing in my registration code and mooching off my good natured licenses :\
