Well, because of the new release, I finally bought and installed vB tonight. The install was simple. But...
When I imported my UBB members, all of their "Registered" dates were reset to Dec 1969. When I look at the MySQL "user" table, the "joindate" field is set to "0000-00-00" for every user. Because many of my users have pride in how long they've been with the board, I think this will cause a lot of complaints if it can't be fixed. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why the registration date might not have come over in the import?
On a possibly related note, the first time I looked at the board, after importing all of the posts from my UBB, the "Last Post" dates showing on index.php shows the date of the first ever post in each forum. Almost every forum should have been updated in the last day and certainly within the last week, but none of them show the date of the most recent post, instead they show the date of the very first ever post. When you go to forums, threads, and messages, they have the correct dates. This is not a big problem because it (Last Post) updates once a post is made, but I thought I would bring it up.
Also - when you go to your profile and look at your "invisible" setting, neither choice is selected. Even if you choose "on" or "off" and then save, the next time you log in it doesn't show either as being selected. I'm not sure if this is a big deal, but I am having problems seeing any of the other test users who are logged in on the "Active Users" part of index.php. When I look at the database, it seems like some people have a 1 and some have a 0 in the "invisible" field of the "user" table. I am not sure what variable in the UBB determines the "invisible" status. I will do more testing on this to see if there may be another reason that I am only seeing myself, and no one else.
Other than that, I love the program. I am testing it now, before I actually make the final switch from UBB. I am excited to make the move and I want to say thanks to all of you for posting so much good info on this board and making it easier for me to make my decision to move.
Take care, everyone.
