Have I done something wrong?

Hello there,

I've just started our new vBulletin board and it seems to work flawlessly except for one thing - once I've read one of the new postings, the icon indicating "new post" in the different fora is not showing at all. Instead the "No new post" icon appears.

Have I done anything wrong during the customizing of the vBulletin board???

It would not be a new post after you have read it, would it?

More than likely you spent more than two minutes on the site - and vBulletins default I beleive is two minutes to set new posts as not new posts.

I'm aware that the "New post" icon should disappear after having read the new post :)

But this also happens to the "New post" icon by all the other fora, although I haven't read the new postings in these fora yet.

The default 2 minutes should be for each forum you visit, right?

Its from when you sign on - go in to CP and bump it up to 600 seconds and that should give you enough time to surf around and see whats up

Hmmm... so what you are saying is that no matter whether you've read every single postings or not, it's all about how long you stay in the forum?

The 600 secs. seems OK if you just want to surf the forum for new postings. But, how can the users know whether he/she has read a posting if the "New post" icon only disappears after a certain time. With a lot of fora and postings this would be very confusing, unless you visit every hour...
