I had a web site hoster with o2 hoster when it went down. Had serious problems getting control of domain name. Eventually, by checking "whois" found the personal e-mail address of their MD(ozan.pakyuz@nsconsulting.net), who transferred it to my control at www.ukreg.com, where I had set up an account (free). It took 3 weeks from the time my site went down with o2 hoster until I had it up again with another hosting company.
Hope this is of help to anyone with the same problem.

That sucks that you had to go through all of that, but glad you got it back. Always a good idea to make sure that your domain name is in *your* name. Saves hassle time when you want to change hosts.

There's not a lot of point giving you the URL for o2hoster as the company, and their servers, have been shut down. However, here it is in any case www.o2hoster.co.uk
