Once in a blue moon it is necessary to turn off the posting privledges of a user due to abuse. I typically just change the "can post" to "no", instead of deleting the account, so that they can come back after a period if they request it.
However, this allows them to keep using the scripts "email another user" feature (or whatever you call it). Is there any way to keep a "suspended" account intact but remove the ability for the user to use the email function?
Thanks!

Make a new user group called Banned and change the permissions accordingly.
I have mine set so that banned members can't even view the forums.
Then when you ban a member all you have to do is change their user group.

Right, I tried that, and made sure to check "no" on the "Can Use 'email to friend' feature" line. (That's the place, right") However, the user was still able to email me via the vBulletin script! I was surprised when I got the email.

Those are two different features.
The email to friend is like a "Referral System". The friend gets a message that says "Hey this is a cool site, I thought you might like this topic, Read it below" (or something similar).
The Email feature allows them to click on your profile icon and send you an email either through a form or a link. This can't be turned off except by modifying the code.

Oh I see, so you prevent the user from using the email feature solely by preventing them from seeing the board all together. OK Thanks.
