I run upgrade.php and it wants my user/pass, so I put it in and then it redirects me to index.php giving me a message telling me to delete upgrade.php.....when I do that I get a database error!
Aaackkkk.

OK, I managed to get around it, I logged into the Control Panel, where it set my admin cookie, then uploaded and ran the upgrade script. No problems so far.....

upgrade.php exists. If you have already upgraded fully, please delete it. Otherwise, run it now.

Well I got my board back up by copying the 1.1.1 files back over and fixing config.php after I realized that file shouldn't be copied back. I can't upgrade though, help!

Greg,
Yes I had to log in and delete the upgrade script, then upload it and then run it, actually it was the second time that I did that when it actually let me run it :)
Not sure why, but it did it successfuly and quickly.

I'm glad I came here and read this thread before updating my vB. I also had to remove the upgrade.php file before I could log in.

I also had to remove & upload the upgrade.php file... Weird
Anyway, I get an error in de middle of upgrade step one, which says: unknown user xxx, unknown user xxx unknown user xxx unknown user xxx
(xxx is a registered user at our board).
I'm still the one having a backslash problem, could this still render all these problems? Or is the backslash problem fixed in 1.1.2???
HELP!

Well if I delete the upgrade script and then login, it just gives me the same error and keeps asking me to login :( I even put the 1.1.1 files back and then logged in ok, put the 1.1.2 files back on and ran upgrade - same result.

Any response to my upgrade problem as described above.
John you are welcome to access my server and attempt the upgrade for yourself if it will help solve the problem.
