I am about to get myself a personal domain but can't decide whether to have "forum" or "forums" as part of the domain.

I've added a poll. Please do me a favor and tell me which you would choose and why.

I have put forum on mine simply becase i have forums as a test forum and I didn't want to remove them.

Forums!

Each section you have is a forum. Main Forum, Hack Forum, Art Forum, Beer Forum... whatever.

One board usually consists of multiple forums.

Having said that I just call mine 'bb' (short for Bulletin Board).

Forum - A public meeting place for open discussion.

And thats what our boards are. There's only one. So it's forum.

Works the other way, too:
I have multiple boards on my forum. :)

Register both, then point the forums domain to the correct domain.

BTW, why not fora?

You have multiple categories in a forum.

Look, even vBulletin.com is "vBulletin Community Forum"

in your opinion, what makes more sense or sounds better?

like in "my forums" or "my forum"

and forums.mysite.com or forum.mysite.com
A forum contains threads and other forums. Unless you have one forum at your site (for example, a single container for threads), you have forums or "fora", which sounds stupid :p

I say forum too because I've always had mine like that and I'd have to admit I was wrong if I say forums sounds better, and I'm never wrong. :D

Forums :D They both work to me, but I look at each different "category" as a different forum within a "board", so it's plural in my eyes. (Fora just sounds like some sort of sea creature :p)

Forums for the whole thing, forum for a specific forum inside your forums.

if you use "forum(s)" as part of your domain name, go for forums. A domain with "forum" in it, and not "forums", may be mistaken to be a forum of different meaning, whereas "forums" is fairly inevitably a community.

However, I would still personally just register both and simply forward the "forum" domain to the "forums" domain. :)

I prefer 'forum' because it is what the official vBulletin sites use, and i'm used to it more.
