Few things that red flag in my mind about their site
A) 200gb of transfer for $50 (if it looks to good to be true, It most likely is applies here)
B) Contact page, all it says is soul hosts CEO and a e-mail address, So who is the CEO? How many legit companies have you seen with just a CEO address not a name when listed on the site? Who's the CEO hiding from that he can not put his/her name up.
C) Only way for support appears to be via e-mail on their contact page. No forums, live chat or even a ticket desk.

Please keep in mind, TFH, just because the name is not listed for the CEO does not mean they are trying to hide anything from anyone. Plenty of websites use the same method and do not list the name openly; it also applies for sites beyond the hosting industry.
I will agree that the packages offered are a bit too good to be true, though, that does not mean they are not a valid host and are not capable of offering such.
Also, as for support options, it does appear they are new (at least to me), so they may not be able to afford to offer other such methods of support -- 98% of all support queries at ViperHost are handled via e-mail, not via our support forum and not via live chat (AIM & MSN). I know there are free alternatives to everything that could be used (i.e. helpdesk, support forums, ect), though, most would rather use a better software than have to upgrade to it later on; it's not easy on customers or visitors having to move from one software to another over night as it takes more getting used to.
I'm not trying to jump on you, though, the only really valid statment that would apply and actually help darudefx is that the prices are a bit too good to be true and that is something to look for.

I know your not trying to jump on me Jon :) and like I said, these were things that red flagged in my mind. Maybe they wouldn't have flagged as fast if they were not offering 200gb of transfer for $50
Most companies and/or vendors I deal with at the corp level either have a so and so, CEO - first-name.last-name@company.com or they just don't list a CEO contact. I rarely ever see contact company CEO - ceo@company.com unless they are a "kiddie" company.
Even though most of your support is done via e-mail, your site still has forums and a instant message contact. When sites like this just have a support address tucked away in the contact page. No other means of contact listed, I always felt it is kinda like saying write us here and maybe I will reply when I get around to it, or in the kiddie company cases, in between homework and mom making me go to bed :D
Again, this is just what I seen in my mind from the site.

I concur. People can be moved around from position to position in a real company, names don't change. Again, if I'm a ten year old running my own webhosting site, it'd be cool to be called "ceo".

If they don't provide a telephone number for tech support, I would think twice about signing up.

Does it make much sense if one host bashs another host?
Ask yourself why they do this. If I take a close look at all their web sites I am able to find valid reasons not to use them, too. Some are even in business no longer than a few months.
Conclusion: look for reviews of current users and not for comments of other hosts... :)

No one is bashing anyone; the guy asked for information on a host probably none of us have ever heard about, and a couple hosts gave their input on what they 'see'.

Sorry, but this forum isn't for us to debate our pricing against another host. To quickly answer your question in a nutshell, no we would not as we do not oversell our services. If you would like to continue this, please contact me direct via PM here or via our company forums.

This is kind funny to listen to you guys.
I think you should limit your response to one post per question and only respond to other users, not webhost. If your going to argue do it in PM or better yet take it away from the forum.
I just might start up a debate forum. Doing so would fill a nitch in the market I am sure :-) Would you guys come to my debate forum if I created it? We can list a few topics each day and then see who can come up with the best stance :-)

Actually, I looked over that 25 per month payment. I can see how they could be making a profit of a couple bucks per server.
Let's say they have the intel celeron 1.3 ghz, 99 dollar one. Looks like they got it while the $1 setup fee was around. If they gave away 125gb of bandwidth...
They could have about 5 of those accounts per server. Giving them, 125 dollars per month, spend 99 on the servers, and have couple left. I doubt that they are doing that since they say they give cPanel, but... >_< who knows...

Not very smart to change your TOS after you've been in operation. I'm sure current customers might get pissed if they get bandwidth cut. THAT is if they have a TOS that abides to all accounts

Thanks for the input, and yes i offer my address legitly for anybody who wishes to contact me rather than the support address, unlike other companies, and yes we do make profit, our hosting is very reliable and we have had 100% uptime since we first started, It makes me sad to see a hosting company bash anothers, but makes sense when one offers better plans.

whooooaaaa... back the horse and buggy up... No one was bashing you, Someone posted looking for input about your site and some hosts including myself gave our input... I don't see any posts from other companies saying your servers are slow, outages are a common thing in your NOC, they take weeks to answer support... That my friend would be bashing.. Pointing out red flags on ones site of a unknown host is just being cautious. Most hosts here don't need the business like ones do at WHT to go to the level to bash each other to gain it. In fact if you take the time to browse some posts, most of us even say another host is great rather then trying to bash them and sharking them to their own sign up page if indeed that company is top notch.

I am in no way related to Soul Hosts but I have to repeat myself (see below): a host should not make comments about another company even if it's not bashing :)) unless he actually used the services of the other company.
