Do you let guests view attachments?

Title says it all. I currently allow guests to view attachments, but I wonder if it's not better to limit it to members only? Wouldn't that get more registrations, and since they're already registered maybe they'd be more inclined to post?

No. I do it to prevent people from hotlinking those images etc. in order to save bandwidth.

Yeah, I did try it once, it did bring a few new users to my board when I did allow it, but it eats alot of bandwith cause people hotlink like crazy... :(

Yeah, I guess I could, unless people started posting rude, or inappropriate images on my site.

I think it would encourage a few people to sign-up.

I prefer to allow viewing of attachments to members only. Even if bandwidth wasn't a problem and we had a nifty lil' anti-hotlink script going ... still would prefer people signed up to view the attach's.

I feel there should be some surprises and reasons a guest should join, so no matter what I'd keep it unviewable to guests.

I don't allow them to search, either.
