Hi!

I am a new user of vbulletin (and it is great!), but there are some questions I hope you can answer. If you want to look around my forum, go to www.jadehawks.de (http://www.jadehawk.de/vbulletin/index.php) , but you should be able to understand german... ;)
OK, now to the questions:

1)
I do not really understand, how I can get some forums protected... I try to explain the situation:
I have the forums A, B and C and the users x, y and z for example. How do I protect
- the forum A that the users x and y can get into it,
- the forum B so that only the user x can get into it and
- the forum C so that all of them, but no other guy can get into it?

2)
Is there a special spam-protection, so that users have to enter at least, let's say, 50 words or 100 letters or 3 lines before they can post the message?

Hope you can help me. Thanks,
Markus Poestinger

1) You will need to create a user group for each person that needs custom access, and set the appropriate permissions on that group. Then put the people in the right groups. Check the bottom of the left part of the control panel for the User group stuff.

2) No this isn't included - but if you ask in the code hacking forum someone might be able to come up with some code for you :)

1) Okay, I have made it. :) But hikes, that's too complicated! In the UBB it took only about ten minutes to set the permissions for 20 users and 6 protected forums. Today it took about 2 hours to set the protection up for 25 users and 6 protected forums...
But the vbulletin outrules the UBB in all other points so I can take this (what is now "Nachteil" in english ;) )

2) I'll try...

Thank you for your help.

I think user permissions have been totaly re-done in v2, however i havent really heard anything about it, hopefully we can get some more hints before v2 is released :)
