View Full Version : Adjusting timeout

I'm running 2.3.0 on a W2K/IIS server, and I'm having problems with some images not loading occasionally, as if they timeout. Does anyone know how the loading time can be adjusted on a IIS server? There must be something that can be done to allow just a fraction more loading time, right?
Actually, this may just be on my end. I can't say I've had any complaints. If it is just on my end, anyone have any idea why this might be happening? I'm running XP Pro/IE6 on this box.

I had the same problem. I'm not sure what caused it. See if you experience the same issue with another browser or on another box. It took a reinstall of Windows to fix it. I never did find out what went wrong.
I'm a Mozilla user now and I've yet to experience it with it. Does it happen on other sites besides your forum? With me it was happening on most sites.

Actually, I tried accessing it from another box with W98 on it, and it didn't seem to do it. So yeah, maybe it is an XP/IE thing. Another thing I've noticed is, it only seems to happen on forums...no matter what type of server or forum. This has been happening for awhile, actually. I've reinstalled XP since I first noticed it. It just seems to have gotten worse now. It has to be just a timeout setting somewhere, I'd think.
You're right though...Mozilla doesn't seem to have that problem. Too bad I don't like the way Mozilla displays certain things, otherwise I'd use it.

Someone finally found the solution to this problem. It has absolutely nothing to do with IE, XP, or SP1. Scroll up and see the post of the person I'm quoting here....
