Is it Safe to Increase Topic Views Past 40?

Hello, all.

I'd like to set the forum default to show more than 40
topics, to avoid having members locate the tiny Page 2
click. I noticed my version comes with the default set
at 40. Would it be safe to increase this to 60, 80, or 100?

Increasing it will only increase the bandwidth used for each page. It shouldn't have an adverse impact on the database.

This is a user configurable option in 2.0 as well, if you choose to go that route.
