I have been playing about with my back-up's but as yet have been unable to find an easy way to run a full back-up.

I have tried opening the text file via a browser and cut & Paste (Takes Ages) as you all probably know.

Is there an easier way of doing this.

I ask because I run 2 vb boards, 1 Public, 1 Non Public(Of Course) the non public one I like to run the exact same as to run hacks etc. I'm sure you have all done it.

Any tips or hints, please

Explain further. Do you want to backup your forums or restore a backup? SSH maybe of use to you, see the vBulletin guide of moving hosts.

I am looking to run a full restore, problem is the server times out while trying to read the text back-up file...

The only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. Please see the instructions here:
