vB3 Beta is much easier on my server. :)

I'm running vB3 Beta on my private forums on a Dual Xeon 2 Gb RAM box, and it's smooth as silk - my mysql processes are dying properly, I don't get runaway apache processes anymore, my server loads never go above 1.0 - it's much better. Mind you, this may also be because I got rid of all third-party hacks and addons and running default vB for a change. :) Just sharing this observation...

I've had the same experience as well.:) My server load's been nothing but low lately.

Of course, it SHOULD be low, as I have about 2 users online.:p

A lot of it is because I am not using hacks, some of which have massive queries. :)

I just about craped my pants when I upgrade to vB3. The thing is that I upgrade to a dedicated server when I upgrade to vB3 :) Page loads we're chopped in half and server load is barely noticed. But I am sure vB3 had a little something to do with it.

Well... considering we lost all our custom hacks, they weren't too happy, but they are getting used to it.

I couldn't get vB3 to install with our hacks, Lesane's store and the arcade hack were producing fatal errors. I end up doing a clean install and starting over from scratch.

The change of the code base between vB2 and vB3 is so significant you're likely to not be able to apply any hacks from vB2 to vB3. They all either need to be rewritten to use the updated code, or can now be achieved through template conditionals.
