I'm hoping to setup yet another new website (actually, it's been a while since i made a new one!) but my main problem is that my demands have grown past what my current hosting deal is (liquidweb.com pro virtual account).
So, hopefully someone will be able to advise me on a great deal i could go for, or would anyone be interested in clubing together to get a dedicated server? 4 people sharing shouldn't be too much demand on the server and the price would be reasonable :)
Eitherway, Requirements:
Support for multiple domains:
10 would be enough, i'm currently using
5 and plan to add 3 more to that in the not too distant future
30gb bandwidth
My bandwidth usage isn't actually too high at the moment but with the additional websites i'm creating i expect a sharp rise :/
1gb of space
Would be really nice. Currently using around 300, although i'll probably end up more in the range of 800-1000mb with the new sites
MySQL accounts
10 to 20 would be nice. I'm upgrading all my sites to use a decent style CMS so that's 8 websites+1 forum. 10 would probably be enough but i like extra databases to try out new scripts, and because i'll probably make a couple more websites at some point. I don't like table prefixes much either. Keeping content seperate seems easier
POP3 Email accounts
Fairly obvious one that ;) I'd like to be able to get pop3 accounts for each of my domains me@domain1.com me@domain2.com etc etc. I'm not much into email forwarders.
Subdomains
Maybe, i've grown past using them :p
All the usuals
like perl n php support, blah blah.
Thanks for your help. I feel like i'm stuck between using a virtual hosting account that doesn't quite offer enough, and going to a dedicated server which is just too exspensive at this current time.
quick note: I'd rather not spend more than around $30/month on a server. None of my websites making any money, and on top of that you have around $10/15 renewal charges (so that's anything from $80/120 on domain charges alone (and i have some domains bought with the intention of future use at somepoint (around 5 of them) ) ). I wouldn't say that's a big exspense, but then there's also all that money you put out on websites without realising! :p
