I created a default calendar and I still can't see it...

I second that. Created a calendar and still have no right to view it... as an admin.

Look at the calendar permissions for that calendar. Does it say your group has permission to view the calendar? Perhaps the install script isn't creating the proper default calendar permissions.

Forgot to mention... it is a new test-installation to get used to the functions, no upgrade.

Did you set the displayorder to something other than 0?

Did you set the displayorder to something other than 0?No I didn't, and that fixed it. Thanx a lot Freddie. :)

It still doesn't work for me even though I've fulfilled all the above criteria.

EDIT: It works with the display order set to 1, not 0.

Sounds like a bug to me! :P :D

Yes, setting it to 1 instead of 0 fixes it.

I'll put in a standard error that says there are no calendars defined instead.

Shouldn't you create one when the installer runs too, because a lot of "new" people aren't going to know what to do...

You may want to set the initial calendar to 1 instead of 0...that's why it wasnt showing up. (or fix it where 0 will work)

Yes there should be one created.

Yes there should be one created.

Looks good...Might want to somehow mention that a setting of "0" will cause the calendar not to be displayed, or default it to "1" instead.

Addtionally, I like the ability to add fields to the calendar and also the ability of having multiple calendars...it'll make the functionality of my site that much better (I have a lot of use for different calendars with different fields).

Although, it would be nice, if there were multiple calendars, that the user be able to choose what calendar they want to look at instead of it defaulting to the first calendar.

It does say something about 0 will disable the calendar if you look at that setting.

PBChannel
Tue 17th Jun '03, 3:41pm
You are correct...it was in the help files.

Setting a display order to 0 will prevent that calendar from showing in the Jump To menu, but a user will still be able to access it by typing in the direct URL to it.

But it also says they'll still be able to view it if they know the direct URL, which is incorrect. If it's set to "0", even the administrator can't view it.

Then the help file is incorrect, I didn't write it.

If you go edit a calendar and look at Display Order you will see that it says "Set to '0' to not display this item" right beneath it. At any rate when creating new calendars in beta 4 it will always put the next open display order in that field instead of 0.

Noted. Will the ability to edit/view the calendar as admin be fixed if it's set to 0?

That isn't a bug. The point of setting it to 0 is to disable it.

I understand. But, even if you're an admin, you can't do anything with it. What if I wanted to disable it to stop people from viewing it while I made some modifications to it? If it's disabled (currently), I can't do anything to it. It's kind of counterproductive to even have the disable ability at that point.

The point is to hide the calendar from the users for whatever reason without having to delete it.

So, as admin you can't work on it if it's hidden/disabled?

Set the permissions to deny everyone else. This is just how forums work.

Well, if I disable the forums, the users get a message that they are disabled, but the admins can still view them...I just figured the calendar would be the same way.

Would be time consuming to change the permissions every time I wanted to change something on a calendar.

I am seeing this on my Calendar.php page:
"The Calendar is currently disabled. "

I could see the calendar just 10 minutes ago. I have NOT fumbled with any permission settings AT ALL.

Whats up? "Registered Users" group has permissions to do everything. Calendar is viewable by "Registered Users" too (I made it viewable and everything-able by ALL usergroups).

What gives?
