Eva's boards are the most popular vBulletin boards I have seen, so why not ask eva about beta testing 2.0?
Would be good to see how the board reacted with all the posts there :D
God, im jealous of those boards!

Nic.. are you from OCP? [H] ;)
If you are.. then you should know OCP would be a great place to stress test 2.0.. since they have like 400 people on their forums @ any given time.

yeah, it is a bit on the slow side, what are your server specs? Maybe a bit of MySQL tuning will help a bit...

I hate my hosting company, rackspace.com - I don't even know what kind of box it is or the processors or whatever - I guess their general thing. Prob a PII I would think.
Operating System*:* RedHat Linux 6.1
Processor*:*700 Mhz
Memory*:*1024MB RAM
Hard Drive 1*:*9.1GB SCSI
I've been wanting to get a new server with a new host because we use so much bandwith every month it just keeps going up and up (isn't 300gb/month a little insane?) and the server just seems ****ty ( a friend of mine confirmed that they use crappy hardware)...
anyway, We are probably going to be upgrading the processor to 1gig - They also said they can do mySQL troubleshooting for me for $75/half hour but I'm hoping that won't be necessary- I don't know too much about mySQL and am in the midst of moving to LA and a million other things and don't have the time or desire to learn.
But what would I have to do? I have no idea where I would even begin with tuning mySQL.

Ask that last question in the MySQL forum, They will show you how to find out your current mysql settings, and what to & how to change them to make your forum faster.

brookelyn, all rackspace 600 through to 1000 mhz cpus are either AMD Duron 600 or Athlon Thunderbird 700, 800, 900 or 1000 mhz only dual cpu systems are p3 650 or 750
i love my new host and new p3 733 server !! - 100 users for 6 hrs straight and never over 0.45 load !!!

I'm gonna have to check out your host. There is no way I'm going to be able to change hosts for the next few months since I'm in the middle of moving across the country and it seems like such a huge pain in the ass and maybe the new host will be worse that I always put it off - how long have you been using them? The other thing is that we might be making a deal with a bigger web company and end up using their servers so setup fees and all that junk just to turn around and use someone else - grrrrr.... i just want to design and administer - server troubles make me angry!!

they hosted me on a dual p3 800, 256mb server for free from Dec 22 - Jan 5, 2001 if i remember correctly due to my cashflow problems and my termination of rackspace on Dec 31, 2000.
Jan 5 - present on my own P3 733, 256mb server with 100gb/month!! been paying - just got my Feb invoice
support might be a tad slower with my new host since they don't have 100s of support staff like rackspace - so not sure if they right for you ?

It was in the 2nd September issue of Business 2.0 - I don't know why I didn't tell you about it! I actually didn't tell a lot of people because of my horrible experience with the Mademoiselle article.
