Instead of:
You have X private message(s) (Y new since last visit, Z unread)

Use:
You have Y new messages since last visit (Z unread, X total messages)

I think that would appease the masses and be more understandable.

<edit>
Changed variables to make it more clear what I mean.

template, template, template.

You can change it any which way you want.

Wayne, great idea. That's a much better sounding default.

Bira, the point of these suggestions is to make a default template that makes more sense for webmasters that don't 'play' with their boards.

Yes, Wayne could change his templates as can I, but the purpose of his comment was to make the change a DEFAULT change not for his benefit (if you've seen his board, you KNOW he knows how to play with templates)

Yes, it was more of a suggestion for the default shipping templates. I have already decided to change mine so it reads like that no matter what.

However there are a lot of people who would like to download the package install and be ready to go. This suggestion was for them. Plus I think it clears up a lot of confusion as to what the numbers mean.

Dang, can I get you to do some work for me? Anything you ask they do! LOL ;)

What kind of work? :D

I try to provide a solution when I make suggestions or find a bug in the system. I think this is more helpful then just asking for something new.

Besides this change was actually pretty trivial. :)

But the key is they saw your request and immediately did it! ;)
