ZendOptimizer for 4.04 now available

Version 1.0 has been released and appears to work fine with 4.04pl1. It did not play nice (at least for me) with the apc cache module. No real surprise there. get it at http://www.zend.com/store/products/free-products.php

I heard it was going to be expensive... Ouch. 1500 bucks (US) per processor. Will be interesting to see head to head comparisons with the apc cache.

I've had excellent results with the APC SHM Cache. I suggest everyone give that a shot. I couldn't imagine dumping a perfectly good free cache for a $3,000 ($6,000 in our case) "Official" cache. The only way I would even consider it is if it offered:
WAY more speed
Interoperability with the Optimizer (it would make sense to optimize the files FIRST, then cache them for the most speed).

But, I'm happy with the APC cache, and I'll stay with it -- unless I happen to get the Zend Cache in my mail or something. ;)

Unfortunately, I couldn't get APC to work properly.

I contacted the authors and didn't get it to work, still. Which sucks because BWare's cache is a pale comparison to APC's functionality.

With MMAP, it segfaulted Apache like mad. I guess I can't win. :(

SHM didn't work? Supposedly SHM is superior to MMAP -- I know that the way BWare does it destroys our web servers (1GB of ram is eaten up in minutes). I think BWare uses MMAP as well. I've had no problems with SHM.

Ouch. The Zend Cache is expensive!

The BWare cache crashed my server after running for a while so I am not currently running it. I would love to hear from anyone who tries out the Zend Cache. Is it great? Is it worth the big bucks? Does it work with Zend Optimizer? What about eating memory? Hoping to get some feedback from the people here (as usual!)
