I went to purchase vBulletin on the basis and recommendation from a friend, having been told that it's easy to use from the order through to configuration. So I visit the site and put my order through using WorldPay (because it takes three days to load money into my PayPal account!).
Now, considering i'm in a hurry you would think this was the best idea (24 hours it says). It went through OK, and I got confirmation from Jelsoft, but next morning I find an email which says something like this....
Due to the increase in internet fraud and monitoring of credit cards... blah blah blah... we have cancelled your order and no charge will be made to your credit card
Whats going on? I've been ordering with the SAME credit card online, for about 10 years now and have never had a problem. I got a wad of money free to use, so why is Jelsoft stopping this transaction?

I would say you should contact worldpay, and try an duse another card in the meantime.

Wish I could use another card, but it's the only one I've got (and needed). I don't think it's Worldpay that's the problem here though, but not entirely sure yet.
Well, they have until the end of the day to see what they can do about it. But at the moment, it looks like it's gonna be PHPbb instead. At least I can get their product! :D :D

What about debit card? And have you tried paypal, they take straight up credit card without an account i believe..
And i don't suggest PHPBB, don't upgrade from one script to vb, all it is, is horrors i belive, postids, userid and thread ids never in order. That is why if i am going to start a board i expect to pay off i buy VB

Thanks m8y.
I went back to Paypal to see what would happen without loading money into my account, and it seemed to send directly from my credit card.
Still gotta see if they send the goods or not though!!
I would like to say to Jelsoft right now though - dump Worldpay if it doesn't do what it says. Cos for people without Paypal, you're gonna lose customers over this.
Cheers,

Your welcome.
And, Yes, worldpay is a pain, i have never used it but i hear almost nothing but complaints from people with it. There ARE other third paty credit card processors.

There are other third party credit processors but only World Pay allows automatic translation from multiple currencies into the currency of your choice.
We are sorry, your card was turned down. However, that is the minority and not the normal behavior. I don't know who other's have heard complain about Worldpay but they are considered one of the best Internet processors available. Unfortunately, credit card fraud on the Internet is increasing rather than decreasing. We chose the services we use and have the fraud checking in place to keep prices low to our customers. Switching to another provider would probably resulting in a price increase of 50 to 100% of our product to pay for losses resulting from chargebacks, processing fees and money exchange rates.

You will ofcourse hear more complaints then when it goes right, because when it goes right, there is no need to start a new topic in the pre-sales forum saying things didn't go as planned :)
My first purchase was with a credit card and it was the quickest purchase ever, I was suprised. It was a owned vBulletin license :) This was several years ago now and ofcourse, things might have changed in the mean time.
I currently use PayPal to renew my licenses and it works perfectly. Almost the same speed as the credit card, but ofcourse, I already had a paypal account and didn't sign up for one when I needed the renewal.
Why your purchase was rejected is something for WorldPay to notify you about. I hope you can get in contact with them. You could try another purchase and make sure all the details (and capital letters and extra security new number) are in place.
